MT. CALVARY BAPTIST VBS
Vacation Bible School at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Nasons, continues through July 18 from 6-8 p.m. with the theme “Chosen Champions for Jesus.” There will be crafts, delicious food, music, games and most of all, good Bible teaching that will inspire everyone to be on God’s team and excel in everything you do. (Classes: preschoolers to adults.)

HARMONY FREEWILL VBS
Vacation Bible School at Harmony Freewill Baptist Church, 225 Spicer’s Mill Road, Orange continues through July 19 from 7-9 p.m. Awards day and a cookout will be held Saturday, July 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The theme for VBS is God’s Backyard; kids, come and learn about Jesus.

BENEFIT FUNDRAISER
A benefit fundraiser will be held Saturday, July 19 at Booster Park, Rt. 20, Orange, beginning at 2 p.m. to benefit the “McGinnis Medical Fund.” Join us for live music, an auction, a pastor’s dunking booth, yard sale booths, great food, pony rides, face painting, and snow cones for the children. Our hope and prayer is that we will all come together as a community to help this young teen in such a difficult time. All donations can be sent to Abundant Life Christian Fellowship, 19103 Brick Church Road, Orange, VA 22960 with “The McGinnis Medical Fund” on the memo line.

LITTLE ZION BAPTIST
Little Zion Baptist Church cordially invites you to attend the 26th pastoral anniversary celebration of their pastor, the Rev. Marion F. Wilkerson, on Sunday, July 20 at 10 a.m. Minister Harold S. Miller of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Advance Mills, will be the guest speaker. Lunch will be served following the morning service.

LOW CHURCH CONCERT
The Lake of the Woods Church monthly concert series, “Making Joyful Noise,” will present a special concert on Sunday, July 20 at 7 p.m. to celebrate the new Steinway piano which was recently anonymously donated to the church for its Worship Center. Featuring talented musicians within the church, the concert will highlight the consummate piano styling of Kathy Pellegreen; a men’s chorus, under direction of Paul Workman, singing in the old southern gospel-style as well as performances by soloists and groups. The “Gathering around the Steinway” concert will be preceded by Rose Tuminaro playing old hymns, and concludes with a sing-along of old songs played by Irene Robinson.

ORANGE GROVE BAPTIST
Orange Grove Women’s Fellowship will have their annual gospel fest Sunday, July 20 at 3 p.m. Various choirs will provide the music. Dinner will be served following the morning worship service. You are invited to come and fellowship.

WILDON GROVE BAPTIST
Wildon Grove Baptist Church, Rt. 645, Gordonsville, will have revival services July 20-23. Sunday Worship is at 11:45 followed by lunch. The afternoon prayer will be at 2:30 and worship at 3 p.m. with Dr. Dale Johnson of Way of the Cross, Fluvanna, as speaker for the afternoon service. The prayer and praise services begin at 7:30 with worship at 8 p.m. each evening. Pastor Sherman Collins of Wake Forest will speak Monday accompanied by the choir; Pastor Jeffrey King of Rose Hill Baptist Church and choir will be guests Tuesday and Pastor Phillip Carter of Union Baptist in Avon, along with the United Community Choir will be special guests on Wednesday.

VBS AT CALVARY BAPTIST
Calvary Baptist Church, 19076 Monrovia Road, will hold Vacation Bible School Monday-Friday, July 21-25 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for ages three through sixth grade. The theme is “Living God’s Unshakeable Truth.” For more information call 672-9041 or 854-4348.

ABUNDANT LIFE
Abundant Life Christian Fellowship invites all children ages three and up to come join the fun every Wednesday morning (July 23) from 10 a.m. to 12-noon. YOUTH DAY PROGRAM
The Youth Ministry of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Nasons, will have a Youth Day program Saturday, July 26 at 3 p.m. with Minister Debra Hampton and singers as special guests. Join us and help lift up praises in the name of Jesus. Refreshments served following the service.

SHADY GROVE BAPTIST
Family and Friends Day weekend at Shady Grove Baptist Church will be Saturday, July 26 for a picnic and Sunday, July 27 a 3 p.m. worship service. The Rev. Joseph Moore, pastor of Fifth Street Baptist Church, Lynchburg, will be special guest. All are welcome.

NAZARETH BAPTIST
Men’s Day will be held Sunday, July 27 at Nazareth Baptist Church, 115 E. Church Street, Orange, with guest speaker, the Rev. Clifford Waller from Rock Hall Baptist Church. He will be accompanied by his choir, ushers and congregation. Lunch served following the morning worship service.

GOSPEL SING IN RAPIDAN
The fifth annual Waddell Presbyterian Church Gospel Sing is Sunday, July 27 at 4 p.m. on the river at Emmanuel Church in Rapidan. This year, according to organizer, the Rev. Charles McRaven, area choirs have been invited to join the local individuals and groups. Among those specialties this year will be a repeat performance by Madison Presbyterian, the Rev. John Storey’s singers. A newly-formed bluegrass gospel group also plans to attend, along with a quartet from Waddell and several soloists. An additional focus this year will be sing-along favorites, including any and all kinds of sacred music. The event will be a covered-dish dinner on-the-grounds at Emmanuel, co-sponsor of the gospel sing with Waddell last year as well. Several area choirs have been invited, but the event is open to all. EMANUEL BAPTIST
Emanuel Baptist Church will have Sunday School Day Sunday, July 27, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Arthur Greene of Swift Ford Baptist Church, Madison, as special guest speaker. Lunch will be served.

TRINITY UM CHURCH
Vacation Bible School at Trinity United Methodist Church, 143 W. Main St., Orange, will be held July 27-31 beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 27 and from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday for preschoolers and up. ANTIOCH BAPTIST
Antioch Baptist Church, Madison, will have homecoming and revival services July 27-Aug. 1 with Sunday service at 11 a.m. and lunch following. The Rev. BACK-TO-SCHOOL EVENT
The youth from Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Nasons invites you to a Community Back-to-School event on Saturday, Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Prospect Heights Middle School old football field. We are asking each church, organization or business to sponsor one item on the back-to-school list or to make a contribution. Any contribution you make is appreciated; please keep in mind that this is a community event for our children. We will have free hot dogs, potato chips and drinks and free school supplies. OAK CHAPEL BAPTIST VBS
