Shelter overflowing, needs foster families

This week has been a sobering one for those of us who work to care for the homeless dogs and cats residing at the Orange County Animal Shelter.

Community spirit helps volunteers rebuild together

Many low-income elderly and handicapped people don’t have the money or the ability to fix up their homes or address safety issues, but a dedicated group is lending a helping hand and making area homes safer and just plain nicer for these folks.

James Madison’s Montpelier will host the annual Montpelier Wine Festival, May 3-4. The festival will open each day at 11 a.m., rain or shine, and will close at 6 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday.
