The show must go on.
The Orange County High School drama department’s spring production “Into the Woods” opens Friday and closes Sunday.
“We have suffered a lot of downfalls in this production,” said Sandi Terry, drama teacher at OCHS. “We have lost three leads for different reasons, but everyone is still enthusiastic and we’re going to put on a great show,” she said.
“Into the Woods,” with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, is an award winning musical based on the book, The Uses of Enchantment, by Bruno Bettelheim. The story blends the plot of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales and explores the consequences of the characters’ wishes and decisions.
“I had seen this musical before, and I thought it was great because there are characters everyone will recognize”,
The show dates are: May 9 at 7p.m., May 10 at 1p.m. and 7 p.m., and the May 11 at 1 p.m. On Sunday, May 11 (Mother’s Day) students may bring mom and she’ll get in for free.
