Six fire companies called to mulch blaze

Firefighters from Orange, Rapidan, Spotsylvania, Lake of the Woods, Mine Run and Culpeper battled a mulch fire at Coleman Lumber Company Tuesday afternoon. The fire began in the early afternoon with smoke visible from Route 20 near 522 and clouding up nearby fields and yards. Firefighters battled the blaze on multiple mulch piles into the evening.
