The only New Year’s resolution you’ll ever need
Know, realize, be
Adieu Maurice Clos-Versailles
Maurice Clos-Versailles was killed instantly in a propane explosion in his van on Dec. 11, as he was leaving his Gordonsville farm to go to work.
Common sense
Shopping? Think local first
Honoring space, valuing place
A sense of space-a taste of place-a value system built upon integrity and respect threatened to be put askew!
Wal-Mart uproar ridiculous
The recently published article looks like a National Trust for Historic Preservation cut and paste job. They just inserted Wilderness items where needed as they try to sensationalize the issue.
New school is still a good, necessary project
Backtracking to construct an elementary school would only further delay resolving our east Orange County student space crisis.

Do kids a favor: don’t spoil them
The bible says at 1 Timothy 6:9,10 those who are determined to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many senseless and hurtful desires, for the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things.

The value of an institution
At a time when the value of value is at an all-time high, it’s good to know we have such an asset within our community.

Being part of the green solution
Some scientists have hypothesized that the intensity of natural disasters will increase as Earth heats up.
Remembering the reason for the season
What has Christ’s birth to do with acquiring the newest, the biggest, the most advanced products?
Arts Center seeks continued financial support
No gift is too small to matter. All of your support makes a difference.

Ordinance’s other impacts
The board could easily decide to review the ordinance and make some compromise changes that would be more palatable and avoid this lawsuit.
Short-term vs. long-term profits
Please do not put a big box and its accompanying big business threats next to the Wilderness Battlefield.

No outcry over subdivision ordinance conflict of interest?
I would prefer that a county-wide referendum be held in which the people have the right to vote directly on such laws, superseding or overruling the legislature!
Don’t spend money we don’t have on a school we don’t need right now
Our elected officials need to pull their heads out of the sand and look at the some of the recent headlines
Two don’t see the growth that’s here
Reading recent letters in the Orange County Review castigating three county supervisors for their votes in favor of the sensible, new subdivision ordinance brought me to the conclusion that Mr. Johnson, Mr. Goodwin and others do not see housing growth as some of us do as we drive around the county.
Planning commission’s leadership role
Without substantive changes to support the vision and the growth target, Orange County will continue to grow when the economy recovers without the benefits of making our comprehensive plan smarter with growth where it is designed to be
A season of giving
Our opinion
No true liberty without self-restraint
It is when we cast off restraint that our freedoms quickly erode and then government feels that it is necessary to step in.

Protect the taxpayer, not the developer
As I see it, Burkett, Frame and Pace have protected the non land baron law abiding taxpayer from paying the freight for the by-right developer, plain and simple.
With liberty comes responsibility
I believe that the subdivision ordinance though not good for all is in the best interest of the community as a whole
Blessings are relative-remember to be thankful

Help make holidays memorable
With the shaky economy, many of our local children will be having a meager, if any, Christmas to celebrate.
Constitution encourages political debate, it does not take sides
My objective is not to argue with the tired partisan arguments presented. Instead, I would like to address the tone of the arguments and offer an alternative picture of what I think the founding fathers would say about the election and the direction of the country.
