Donkey Basketball (Did I miss something?)
To the editor,
I was actually there. It was my first attended donkey game ever. Did the opinions of those last week ever attend a game?
What I saw was a well-organized family event that was very funny for all ages! What I did not see was animal cruelty or lack of respect!
I saw humans showing affection, hugging, playing and patting donkeys. I saw humans trying to ride a donkey like one would a horse. However they weren’t very successful! The donkeys won!
I have never heard anyone saying horseback riders are showing cruelty by riding them. My dogs have put up more of a fight in a fun “tug of war game” with a piece of rope than I saw the humans trying to get the donkeys to go the direction they desired.
I applaud the organizer of the event and owners of the donkeys. The donkeys were given many breaks and were well taken care of by the humans.
I saw all children allowed a brief ride on the donkeys.
If anyone was abused, it was the humans trying to outwit the donkeys. It was an excellent event for a great cause.
