To the editor,
I have read that Orange County held a donkey basketball game. As we have progressed as a society and made great strides toward becoming more humane and civilized, events like this just do not fit.
I am a businesswoman and I volunteer to rescue, foster and find homes for homeless pets, but I am not a fanatic. I am a woman who recognizes the fact that cruelty is the sore on any society, whether it is directed at animals or people.
Please do what you can to discourage this event that will only help label your county as backwards. You will be doing a great service to the Orange citizens you reach through your newspaper.
