To the editor,
As a District 4 homeowner, I applaud Teri Pace’s visionary concept (Orange County Review June 26, 2008) for a world-class resort and recreation center on the King family’s 2,000 acres bordering on the Rappahannock River.
Unlike those who propose more “big box” stores for Orange County, supervisor Pace has come up with an exciting “outside the box” land use concept which would become a profitable complement to Orange County’s economy and a boon to all our county’s citizens.
I encourage the King family and other Orange County supervisors to carefully explore Mrs. Pace’s environmentally-friendly, world-class resort and recreation complex proposal. Her “outside the box” idea capitalizes on Orange County’s pristine rural character, unparalleled scenery, rich historical heritage and geographical proximity to large population centers - and there is no downside!
Build it and people will visit Orange County and we all will benefit. In my opinion, her well thought out proposal is a “win-win!!”
