The Orange County High School varsity boys soccer team suffered its first loss of the season Friday, falling to Fluvanna 2-1 in Palmyra.
The game was a make-up from Monday’s rainout and followed the Hornets’ 2-2 overtime tie the night before in Monticello.
The Fluvanna contest was particularly physical, with three Hornets injured in the contest.
Orange jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, after Schuyler Whelan scored on a deflection off a defender.
But the Flucos scored two late second half goals to beat the weary and worn Hornets 2-1.
A night earlier, the Hornets battled the Mustangs to a 2-2 overtime tie, with goals from Ian Lockhart and Cody Fincham, assisted by Whelan.
The Hornets host William Monroe Thursday night in Orange and Charlottesville Monday.
