The Hornets took another step closer to the Jefferson District regular season title beating then co-district leader Western Albemarle 3-1 Monday night. 

Charlottesville frustrated Orange on senior night Monday, playing stout defense in a 0-0 double overtime tie in varsity boys soccer. 

The Orange County varsity girls soccer team had a tough day last Wednesday hosting Fluvanna in a game rained out two days earlier. 

The Orange County High School varsity boys soccer team suffered its first loss of the season Friday, falling to Fluvanna 2-1 in Palmyra.

In sports, when the stakes are high, the team that has an edge will often prevail. Well, on Thursday night, Round 1 of the Jefferson District’s boys soccer showdown went to Orange County’s boys soccer team. 

Boys soccer remains undefeated

The girls travel to Fluvanna Thursday. 

The win moved the Hornets to 5-0 and 1-0 in Jefferson District play.

The Orange County High School boys soccer team is off to a hot start with three shutout wins to open the season.

Soccer is the world’s game. When Ryan Sappington first played soccer as a 6-year-old in Orange County, he couldn’t have imagined the game would open up that world for him.
