The Orange County High School varsity girls soccer team played Charlottesville close throughout the first half, but couldn’t keep up and lost 5-0 Monday night in Orange.
Coach Jamie Dodson said her girls played the Black Knights evenly throughout the first period until a last-second Charlottesville goal gave the visitors a 1-0 lead at the break.
The Hornets gave up four second-half goals and dropped to 2-2 (0-1 Jefferson District) on the season. The girls travel to Fluvanna Thursday.
