Orange boys lose two matches

Spring break came at a good time for the Orange County High School boys tennis team.
The Hornets lost two matches last week, dropping their record to 4-3 (1-3 Jefferson District).
The boys hosted Monticello in Orange Tuesday, and lost 5-4.
Top seed Rob Johnson beat Diehl 10-1.
Second seed Nadkarni beat Orange’s Michael Kayajanian 10-5.
Brendon Chambers won his match over Sikman 11-9, but fourth seed Bobby Chambers lost 10-2 to Rowe.
Braden Jones beat Monticello’s Cho 10-8, but sixth seed Logan Hanley lost 10-4 to Andrechyn.
In doubles, Johnson and Kayajanian lost a tight match to Diehl and Nadkarni 11-9. Chambers and Chambers teamed to beat Rowe and Cho 10-6, but Jones and Hawkins fell to Sikman and Andrechyn 10-5.
The following day, against Western Albemarle, things only got worse for the Hornets.
The homestanding Warriors blanked the Hornets 9-0 in matches that were not close.
Orange looks to return to its winning ways with a match April 14 at Chancellor.
