Warriors blank Orange girls, 9-0

Western Albemarle had no trouble with the visiting Hornets Thursday, blanking Orange 9-0 to remain undefeated.
The young Hornets were overmatched against the talented Warriors.
In singles play, Bayliss beat Orange’s Brittney Squires 10-0, while Nugent defeated Becca Hanley 10-3. Wilson beat Maria Kotulka 10-0, while S. Nanda beat Chelsea Jones 10-0. A Nanda downed Tee Warren 10-0 and Hagspell beat Hillary Bourke 10-3.
Things didn’t get better in doubles play as Bayliss and Nugent teamed to beat Squires and Hanley 10-1. Wilson and S. Nanda downed Kotulka and Jones 10-1 and Volberg and A. Nanda beat Warren and Bourke 10-2.
The Hornets Monticello Thursday night in Orange after Tuesday’s match with Fluvanna was postponed due to wet weather.
