Western shuts out Orange boys

The boys were generous hosts to visiting Western Albemarle Thursday, losing all six singles and all three doubles matches to the visiting Warriors.
The 9-0 loss dropped the Hornets to 6-4 overall and 2-4 in the Jefferson District.
In singles play, A. Preve beat Rob Johnson 10-0. J. Thomas beat second seed Michael Kayajanian 10-4. N. de la Pointe beat Brendon Chambers 10-1, while B. Daugherty bead Braden Jones 10-0.
B. Feats blanked Logan Hanley 10-0, while A. Lhoker defeated Daniel Hawkins 10-0.
Things didn’t get much better in singles as Kosowitz and Thomas beat Johnson and Kayajanian 10-3. Preve and Nelson beat Chambers and Jones 10-3 and Bowser and Dougherty shutout Hanley and Hawkins 10-0.
The boys travel to Monticello Thursday to play the Mustangs.
