The Orange track team traveled to Spotsylvania last Wednesday to compete against Spotsylvania, Caroline, and Chancellor.
The boys got off to a good start with the 4x800 relay team of James Harris, Eddie Ellington, Avery Powell, and Nick Talbert placing second.
Ellington, Johnson, Powell, and Talbert made up the third place winning 4x400 relay team.
In the 100 meter high hurdles, Jeff Carey, Kevin Pearson, and Lamar Gordon dominated the top three spots, respectively.
Gordon took third in the 300 meter hurdles
Pearson also took first in the 100 meter dash, followed by Tyrone Ellis in fourth.
The 4x100 team of Ellis, Reggie Spencer, Michael Johnson, and Pearson won the relay.
In the 200 meter race, Spencer came in third while Johnson took fifth.
Philip Barge placed fourth in the shot put event, followed by Wayne Wright in fifth.
In the discus throw, Harris took first while Barge and Wright won third and fourth, respectively.
The girls had a great meet, placing second overall.
In the 110 high hurdles, Andrea King took fourth.
Lynnie Bresnahan won the 300 meter hurdles, followed by King in fifth.
Ashontae Jackson won the 100 meter dash while Nichole Givens took third.
In the 1600 meter race, Virginia Peck came in second and Jessica Hensley placed third.
The 4x100 relay team of Nicole Walters, Bresnahan, Givens, and Jackson won second.
Shakiyla Jenkins took fourth in the 400 meter race while Erin Penley took fifth.
In the 800 meter race, Walters placed second, followed by Kayla Jones in third.
Jackson won the 200 meter race while Givens took third.
In the 3200 meter race, Hensley came in third.
Bresnahan won the high jump competition.
In the shot put event, Bresnahan took fourth, followed by Erica Barge in fifth.
Bresnahan also won fourth in the discus throw.
There was little down time as both teams headed to the Louisa Last Chance Invitational to compete against nearly twenty other teams last Friday.
The boys took fifth place overall.
Carey won the 110 high hurdles, followed by Gordon in fifth.
Pearson dominated much of his competition, earning forty points for his team and taking first in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, the high jump, and the long jump.
The girls also took fifth overall in the meet with Jackson earning the majority of the points for her team.
Jackson took third in the 200 meter race and won the long jump event.
The 4x800 relay team of Jones, Peck, Kathryn Baker, and Walters took third.
Walters, Bresnahan, Givens, and Jackson made up the fourth place winning 4x100 team.
Peck placed fifth in the 1600 meter race.
Walters won the 800 meter race.
In the high jump, Bresnahan placed fifth.
Jackson won the long jump and teammate Bresnahan won the triple jump.
Both teams competed in the District meet at Louisa yesterday, May 14 (after presstime).
