Anglers will send one to JSQ
The Junior State Qualifier (JSQ), held April 26-27, cut most of the Anglers who participated. However, the tournament yielded one qualifier, Stephen Beasley.
Boys tennis team wins, loses
The Orange County High School boys tennis team split two matches early this week, blanking King George 9-0, but falling to Charlottesville 5-4.
Hosting the Black Knights Tuesday, Orange won two matches on the court and two others by forfeit, but couldn’t win the clinching fifth match that would have secured the victory.
Track teams shine at Western
Last Wednesday, the Orange track team traveled to Western Albemarle to compete against Western Albemarle, Charlottesville, St. Anne’s-Belfield, and Covenant.
The boys had a great meet, placing third.

The 27th annual Sailing Regatta was held April 26 and was well-attended, with nine entries in the Flying Scot Class and six in the Sunfish Class.

The boys were generous hosts to visiting Western Albemarle Thursday, losing all six singles and all three doubles matches to the visiting Warriors.

Anglers start new season with success
After an eventful weekend at Orange County High School Sportsman’s Show, the Anglers kicked off the new season on March 15 with the Lake Anna Ice Breaker tournament and a Jon Boat tournament at Sturgeon Creek.

Chelsea Jones and Hillary Bourke won their singles matches but it wasn’t enough to help Orange overtake Louisa Tuesday night.

The Orange County High School boys tennis team blanked Louisa Tuesday afternoon, running their record to 6-3, 2-3 in the Jefferson District.
OCHS Softball edges Louisa, controlls tournament
Tuesday’s Jefferson District matchup between Louisa County and Orange County was a prime example of what high school softball is all about.
On Saturday, the varsity softball team controlled the tournament at Broadway, defeating both Hidden Valley and Broadway to bring home yet another trophy and improve their record to 8-2.

Hornets sweep doubleheader
The Orange County High School varsity baseball team dropped to 3-4 on the season, as they struggled against Monticello High School Tuesday night at home, coming away with their first district loss of the season.
Local golfers compete in Georgia
Two local golfers represented Orange County well in the Plantations Junior Golf Tour’s Junior World Qualifier held April 5-6 at Jekyll Island Golf Club in Georgia.
