The Gordonsville Gators (GVG), under direction of head coach Paul Spencer, traveled to Stanardsville on Wednesday, June 11 to face the Greene Hills Gators (GHG).

The 2008 tennis season ended last week for Orange County High School’s top singles players and doubles teams.

The Orange County High School varsity Hornets entered the Jefferson District Playoffs with an impressive record of 11-8.

OCHS softball beats Monroe Tuesday after wrapping up regular season title

Last Wednesday, the Orange track teams headed to Louisa to compete in the Jefferson District Championship meet. 

In the hours before the OCHS Junior/Senior Prom, the Anglers will compete in the Scholastic Invitational Tournament at Sturgeon Creek Marina.

The Orange track team traveled to Spotsylvania last Wednesday to compete against Spotsylvania, Caroline, and Chancellor.

The Hornets took another step closer to the Jefferson District regular season title beating then co-district leader Western Albemarle 3-1 Monday night.

The Junior State Qualifier (JSQ), held April 26-27, cut most of the Anglers who participated. However, the tournament yielded one qualifier, Stephen Beasley.

The Orange County High School boys tennis team split two matches early this week, blanking King George 9-0, but falling to Charlottesville 5-4.
Hosting the Black Knights Tuesday, Orange won two matches on the court and two others by forfeit, but couldn’t win the clinching fifth match that would have secured the victory.

Last Wednesday, the Orange track team traveled to Western Albemarle to compete against Western Albemarle, Charlottesville, St. Anne’s-Belfield, and Covenant.
The boys had a great meet, placing third.

Charlottesville frustrated Orange on senior night Monday, playing stout defense in a 0-0 double overtime tie in varsity boys soccer.

The girls maintained a strong defense Friday night away in Greene to scorch the William Monroe Dragons 4-2. 

The Orange County varsity Hornets raised their season record to 11-6, and their district record to 6-3, with a 5-0 win against William Monroe Friday night.

The 27th annual Sailing Regatta was held April 26 and was well-attended, with nine entries in the Flying Scot Class and six in the Sunfish Class.

The Orange County varsity girls soccer team had a tough day last Wednesday hosting Fluvanna in a game rained out two days earlier.
